James Aagaard
Organist
James Aagaard is an Organ Performance major at Florida State University, studying under Dr. Iain Quinn. He has completed his Master’s Degree, and has begun working towards his Doctorate. He began his organ studies in high school with Dr. Michael Corzine, retired FSU Professor of Organ, and he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Stetson University, studying under Dr. Boyd Jones.
Growing up in a military family, James lived all over the country, from California to Louisiana to North Carolina. His mother homeschooled him from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and made sure he had opportunities to explore the world of music. Elementary school piano lessons ignited his passion for music, and he began learning organ in high school. He has also explored guitar, voice, piano accompanying, conducting, and composition. James currently plans to serve as a full-time church musician after completing graduate school.
