Scott Leaman

Music Director

Scott is the choral director at Lincoln High School and music director at Centenary.

Before moving back to Tallahassee in 2001, Scott was the choral director at Palm Bay High School in Melbourne, FL and on the music staff at First United Methodist Church of Melbourne.

Scott earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education from the Florida State University College of Music, and as an undergrad he was awarded the Robert Lawson Shaw Conducting Scholarship. His conducting teachers include André Thomas, Thomas Hilbish, and Kevin Fenton.

Scott is a featured conductor of the Lincoln Women’s Chorale and FSU Women’s Glee Club on the CD Songs From My Heart – Choral Music of André Thomas. Under his direction, Lincoln High School choirs performed at the 2007 and 2010 Florida ACDA State Conferences and several of his ensembles have served as demonstration groups for other ACDA conferences.

Scott received his National Board Certification in 2008 and is an active adjudicator and clinician. He has conducted All-County and All-District Choirs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels throughout the southeast.

He also served as President of the Florida Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
